Chemco has exciting opportunities for multiple full-time Red Seal Instrumentation Technicians based in Kitimat, B.C. 

As an E&I Technician, you will be accountable for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of instrumentation equipment through installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting, while adhering to industry standards and collaborating with process operators and engineering staff.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Install, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain instrumentation equipment on both new and existing plant systems
  • Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and control systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Reference manufacturers' manuals to determine precise testing and maintenance procedures
  • Utilize pneumatic, electrical, and electronic testing devices to inspect and diagnose instrument and system operations
  • Consult and advise process operators and Field Engineers on best practices and solutions
  • Implement effective loss management practices
  • Repair, maintain, and adjust system components, or remove and replace defective parts as needed
  • Conduct risk assessments to ensure safety and compliance
  • Calibrate and maintain components and instruments in accordance with manufacturers' specifications
  • Install and maintain instrumentation on new or existing plant equipment and processes
  • Interpret and adhere to CSA, ISA, and API installation standards and practices
  • Collaborate closely with LNG staff and operations to ensure seamless integration and functionality

About You

To qualify, you will need to be a Red Seal Instrumentation Technician. Previous maintenance services experience (eg. steady state, turnaround, shutdown, outage, etc.) will also be essential. 

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • QA/QC replacement and repair, transmitter setting, and pre-commissioning work
  • Testing and troubleshooting of control systems
  • Installation of distribution and control equipment such as switches, relays, circuit breaker panels, and fuses
  • Experience working and executing maintenance in a live plant environment
  • Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS-09 or 2020) certification
  • Additional supportive training such as Fall Arrest, Confined Space and Entry certifications
